DESCRIPTION: By invitation only. In partnership with The Buyer, Wines of South Africa is organising a tour of four restaurants in London with a group of 8 – 10 sommeliers. At each stop the tour will sample wines from three producers, with signature dishes from the restaurants, matched to the wines. Each stop will be themed and the themes are: White blends Chenin Blanc Red blends Cinsault You will travel to each restaurant in a traditional Land Rover Series 1 - the type of vehicle used on safari in South Africa.

DESCRIPTION: Independent wine merchants - by invitation only. This event is targeted at independent wine merchants and will be run in conjunction with specialist magazine, The Wine Merchant. We will be showcasing two wines from 10 producers followed by a round table discussion. We will be showing producers from some of South Africa’s oldest estates through to some producers with only one or two vintages under their belt – a South African timeline from old to new. Each producer will show the oldest vintage available from the estate (in its current format/name) and the current vintage. The timeline will highlight the history of winemaking in South Africa and the story of how the industry has developed, as well as showing how our wines have the potential to age. Following the tasting the group of winemakers and independent wine merchants will take a London Routemaster bus, destination South Africa, to High Timber restaurant for a lunch and informal tasting.
